Alarm, hazard warning assembly and method for detecting circuit faults

The method involves setting power supply voltage for hazard detector (8), to measure first terminal voltage. The second terminal voltage of detector is measured by loading voltage source with defined current. A comparison voltage is detected by comparing first and second terminal voltages. The third terminal voltage of detector is measured when switch of connecting line (7) of detectors is closed, and is compared with comparison voltage. The switch is opened when third terminal voltage is below comparison voltage, to initiate operation of detector. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) hazard detector; and (2) short circuit disconnecting switch.
