A bearing arrangement for mounting a wheel and an electric motor or generator (figs 1, 2 not shown) to a vehicle, comprises a sealing element 600 and a bearing block, the bearing block including a first coupling element 300 for coupling to a radial wall of the rotor240 and the wheel 1100 (fig 11a not shown), and a second coupling element 310 for coupling to the stator 253 and/or the vehicle, bearings being mounted between elements 300,301 to allow relative rotation. The first coupling element 300 includes a mounting flange having though bolt holes arranged to extend through the mounting flange for receiving bolts 1110 (fig 11a not shown), coupling the rotor and the wheel to the first coupling element, wherein sealing elements 600 are arranged to be mounted over the other ends of the bolt hole for inhibiting the ingress of dirt through the bolt hole into the rotor/stator space. The seal has a locating element 630 formed thereon and individual seal elements 600 are interconnected by sprues 620. A sealing compound is placed between the sealing element and the mounting flange. |
