PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical waveguide facilitating optical-axis alignment with an optical member as a separate body such as optical fiber connector and consequently having superior optical signal propagation efficiency, and to provide a method for manufacturing the same.SOLUTION: The optical waveguide is formed by sequentially superposing a lower clad layer, core patterns for optical signal transmission, and an upper clad layer, and formed with an optical signal extraction part on the core pattern for the optical signal transmission. The optical waveguide further includes core patterns for guide concatenated with the core patterns for the optical signal transmission. The core pattern for the guide forms a positioning guide hole, and the positioning guide hole is exposed to at least one surface side of the optical waveguide. A method for manufacturing the optical waveguide is also disclosed. |
