Provided are a method and a device for remote base station version installation, relating to the technical field of communications. According to the method, a Central Processing Unit (CPU) of a base station activates a CPU minimal system and a related peripheral port by loading a boot loader; the CPU downloads a latest base station version from a remote version storage server connected to the related peripheral port activated; the CPU loads the latest base station version downloaded and backs up the latest base station version downloaded to a system flash memory upon successful loading. The technical solution can complete version upgrade and backup automatically without manual intervention, facilitate fully automated production test at the manufactures and remote automatic upgrade of field maintenance, and greatly reduce equipment production and maintenance costs. |
