[Class 98 (ii)] A film patch for joining the ends of motion picture films bearing sound records, of the type having a flat body provided with projections to pass through the perforations of the films, is constructed with an opaque portion overlapping the sound record, of such form that the sound track is gradually obscured and gradually uncovered. The patch P may be of celluloid or paper and is provided with tongues 1 to pass through the perforations of the films and with an opaque portion 4 of triangular form in register with the sound track on the films. The patches may be used to secure the ends of silent films temporarily during cementing, or for permanently joining sound record films being in this case secured in position by adhesive. |
