PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an idler which can suppress breakage of a fastener for fixing an abrasion plate, and a crawler type travel device.SOLUTION: An abrasion plate assembly 42 comprises a first fastener 203, a first stationery member 201, and a circular arc-shaped abrasion plate 200. The first fastener 203 is fastened to an idler body 41. The first stationery member 201 comes in contact with the first fastener 203 and the idler body 41 and is held therebetween. The abrasion plate 200 includes a first engagement part 200e which is engaged between the first stationery member 201 and the idler body 41. The abrasion plate 200 includes a first contact surface 200S and a second contact surface 200T. The first contact surface 200S comes in contact with the idler body 41, and is perpendicular to an axial direction of a central axis AX of rotation. The second contact surface 200T comes in contact with the idler body 41, and is perpendicular to the axial direction. The first contact surface 200S faces the second contact surface 200T in the axial direction. |
