Provided are a culture vessel and a measurement device both for measuring the thickness of a cell sheet in a non-destructive manner while performing culture. A culture vessel equipped with a lid 4 is provided with a floating tool 8 which is to be placed in the inside of the culture vessel, wherein the floating tool is so configured as to rise by the action of a culture medium in the culture vessel. The culture vessel is a component of a cell sheet thickness measurement device, and the cell sheet thickness measurement device is also equipped with a sensor head 10 which has both a light-emitting element 10A and a light-receiving element 10B and which can detect the change in position of the floating tool in the height direction and a controller 11 which can process signals coming from the sensor head.
