The objective of the present invention is to provide an engine unit with which it is possible to improve further the accuracy with which the temperature of a catalyst is estimated, while using simple control. A throttle valve (45) is disposed in a position whereby a combustion chamber-side volume of an intake passage portion (41), from the throttle valve (45) to an intake port (33), is less than an air-side volume of the intake passage portion (41), from an air inlet (41a) to the throttle valve (45). A control device controls the amount of fuel supplied by a fuel supply device (42) and estimates the temperature of a catalyst (53) on the basis of the degree of opening of the throttle valve (45), disposed in a position whereby the combustion chamber-side volume of the intake passage portion (41) is reduced, and the speed of rotation of the engine. |
