[Class 110 (i)] The running blades of an axial-flow air compressor in a gas-turbine plant have, at their roots, a pitch which is at least 1.25 times the chord length. The profile of the blades is such that, during normal running, the coefficient of lift is at least 0.7 and the chord length diminishes towards the blade tip. In an interstage cooler, cooling water is injected into the compressed air. Outline forms of turbine plant are described. |
