591,359. Scaffolding for buildings; clamps. RAYLOR, W. Nov. 15, 1944, No. 22556. [Class 20 (ii)] A clamping head for a putlog 7 comprises a plate 1 with tapered end 8 adapted to be driven into a wall, and carrying integrally an inverted U-formation 3, through the apex 4 of which a screw 5 works to secure the putlog by a clamping plate 6. The U-formation 3 may be welded in recesses in the plate 1. The rear end of the plate is recessed at 9 to avoid burring in the seating area of the putlog 7, by hammer blows. The clamping plate may be freely rotatable on, but permanently attached to the screw 5, by burring over the end of the screw. |
