METHOD AND PLANT FOR TREATING METALLURGICAL SLAG

A method and relative plant for treating metallurgical slag in order to segregate heavy metals in the slag by including them permanently in a crystal structure of the treated slag, the method comprising the steps of extracting the slag produced by an electric furnace by pouring of a continuous flow of slag out of the furnace and, simultaneously, mixing evenly with the slag a quantity of sand by controlled pouring of a continuous flow of sand in the continuous flow of slag for creating a resulting continuous flow of treated slag, the sand being in granular form.
