The present invention relates to a gate in panel (GIP) type liquid crystal display device. More specifically, the present invention relates to a GIP type liquid crystal display, which has a narrow bezel without a short circuit, and a method of fabricating the same. According to the feature of the present invention, a dummy color filter and a dummy spacer are provided on a non-display area of a second substrate, and a seal pattern is formed on the dummy color filter in such a manner that the dummy spacer is formed in the seal pattern. Accordingly, the seal pattern can be realized at a height corresponding to the interval between first and second substrates due to the dummy spacer and the dummy color filter. Accordingly, the leakage of a liquid crystal layer interposed between the first and second substrates can be prevented, and a cell gap between the first and second substrates can be uniformly controlled. In addition, the seal pattern is positioned on a GIP circuit part, so that the liquid crystal display apparatus having the narrow bezel can be provided, and a conductive ball to be formed in the seal pattern can be omitted, thereby preventing a short circuit occurring as the conductive ball comes contact with the GIP circuit part. |
