摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressure accumulation system capable of improving acceleration performance while reducing a NOx discharge amount, and to provide a method of controlling the pressure accumulation system.SOLUTION: A pressure accumulation system 10 of an internal combustion engine capable of switching an all cylinder operation and a reduced cylinder operation in which a plurality of cylinders are partially cut off is provided with: an EGR mechanism 38 for returning a part of exhaust to an intake passage as an EGR gas; a gas collecting pipe 21 sending a mixed gas obtained by mixing the EGR gas with a fresh gas from the cutoff cylinder through a gas collecting valve 17 provided in the cutoff cylinder in the reduced cylinder operation; a gas collecting tank 20 for collecting the mixed gas sent through the gas collecting pipe 21; a gas ejection pipe 23 for conducting the mixed gas in the gas collecting tank to an intake manifold 19; a gas ejection valve 24 for opening or closing the gas ejection pipe 23; and an electronic control device 50 for opening the gas ejection valve 24 according to the different amount between a target air amount and an intaken fresh air amount.
