PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a time necessary for address determination.SOLUTION: A communication device determines whether to operate in a first communication mode, in which communication with an opposite device is made through an external master unit, or to operate in a second communication mode, in which communication with the opposite device is directly made without passing through the external master unit, among a plurality of communication modes communicating by a wireless LAN conforming to the IEEE 802.11 series. On determining to operate in the second communication mode, the communication device operates as a server in processing for address determination, to provide an address to the opposite device, whereas on determining to operate in the first communication mode, the communication device operates as a client in the processing for address determination. |
