This imaging device (10) has a first polarizing element (17), a second polarizing element (19), a light source unit (16), and an imaging element (22). The first polarizing element (17) and/or the second polarizing element (19) is supported in a rotatable manner. The first polarizing element (17) and second polarizing element (19) can switch the mutual relationship thereof to parallel nicols and crossed nicols. The light source unit (16) radiates illumination light. The illumination light homogenously illuminates the entirety of a subject as light linearly polarized by the first polarization element (17). The imaging element (22) captures an optical image of the subject of light linearly polarized by the second polarizing element. |
