ANTISTATIC THERMOPLASTIC RESIN COMPOSITION

PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition having permanent antistatic properties and excellent weld strength by blending a rubber reinforced styrenic resin with a polyethylene oxide having a fixed molecular weight and a metal salt of an organic sulfonic acid in a specific ratio. CONSTITUTION:(A) 97-70 pts.wt. rubber reinforced styrenic resin such as ABS resin (acrylonitrile-butadiene-based rubber-styrene copolymer) is blended with (B) 3-30 pts.wt. polyethylene oxide having 2,000,000-5,000,000 average molecular weight and (C) 0.1-5 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. total amounts of the components A and B of a metal salt of an organic sulfonic acid such as sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate to give the objective composition showing excellent antistatic properties even after washing with water and excellent mechanical properties such as Izot impact strength.
