[Class 99 (ii)] A device for testing the imperviability of a pipe end, or the joint between a pipe end 1 and a connecting sleeve or flange 2, comprises inner and outer elements 3, 4 which are provided with packing rings 3a, 4a respectively and are connected by a member 5 to form an enclosed space 7 for pressure fluid admitted through passages 5a, 5b in the latter. An airreleasing cock 6 is preferably fitted on the outer element, and this element may also be provided with a tapped piston which can be forced into the space 7 to produce the necessary testing pressure. |
