<p>Paper is coated firstly with a composition comprising at least 70 per cent of polyvinyl chloride and then with a co-polymer of 40 to 80 per cent vinylidene chloride and 60 to 20 per cent vinyl chloride. The first coating may comprise a copolymer of vinyl chloride and vinylidene chloride, vinyl acetate, diethyl maleate, ethyl acrylate or diethyl fumarate; examples mention ethylene dichloride and benzene as solvents. The co-polymer may be soluble in benzene, toluene or xylene.</p> |
