An emergency battery 2 for an electric vehicle comprises a secondary battery pack configured for physical connection to the body of an electric vehicle such as a mobility scooter and an electrical connection to the main battery pack. An integral handle 5 fixes the case under the seat. The case contains a lithium battery 4. A switch unit (fig 5) is attached to the handle bar of the scooter, enabling the user to switch between the batteries when required. Cables (not shown) attach the battery to the switch and main battery via outlet apertures 7. |
