A towing device 20 comprises an outer sleeve 22 and an inner sleeve 26 that is rotatably supported at least partly in an interior of the outer sleeve 22. A hollow axle 28 is located in an interior of the inner sleeve 26, and a skewer 48 is supported within an inner region of the hollow axle 28. The skewer 48 is slidable along an axis of hollow axle 28. First and second slots are located on the hollow axle 28 to hold the front fork of the bike in place at the rear of the vehicle via friction. A lever 24 that is rotatable about the axis of the hollow axle 28 includes a mechanism for causing the rod to slide along the axis to change respective widths of the slots. Also provided is a method of charging an electric bicycle using the rotation of a wheel of the bicycle. |
