Improvement in manufacture of bearing elements especially with faces under high surface pressure

An alloy for a bearing surface adapted to withstand high surface pressure comprises 2 per cent by weight of beryllium; 0.25 per cent cobalt and the remainder copper. A sheet of the alloy is attached to a bearing element and subsequently hardened (see Group XXII).
