<p>PURPOSE:To enhance the flexural elastic modulus of ionomer resin and the impact resilience of a golf ball by mixing an ethylene-vinyl alcohol, copolymer into a cover of ionomer resin in a predetermined ratio to the ionomer resin. CONSTITUTION:An ionomer resin means a group of polymers having ion crosslink and is so excellent in toughness and elasticity that it is used as the cover material or reinforcing material of various products. The ratio of the ionomer resin to arm ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer is 100:3 to 17 parts by weight, preferably 100:5 to 15 parts by weight. When the amount of the ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer is smaller than 3 parts by weight the impact resilience of a golf ball cannot be enhanced. When the amount exceeds 17 parts by weight, then the impact resilience is deteriored and a feeling of a player when hitting the ball becomes worse.</p> |
