PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microorganism carrier excellent in precipitation property in water and water treatment capacity, not generating water contamination even used for long time in water, and suitable for an anaerobic treatment.SOLUTION: A microorganism carrier is structured of a non-porous material, and the non-porous material: contains a polyolefin-based resin of 30 to 90 mass% and an inorganic powder such as calcium carbonate of 10 to 70 mass% in 100 mass% of the non-porous material; and further contains an incompatible resin of 1 to 20 mass% in some case. A specific gravity of the non-porous material is more than 1 and an outer peripheral surface of the non-porous material has a structure having wave-shaped irregularity in which a large diameter part 13 having a relatively large diameter and a small diameter part 15 having a relatively small diameter are alternately arranged. |
