PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a picked-up image with appropriate exposure and timing.SOLUTION: A control section 201 detects, as a photographing scene, a first photographing scene such as backlight, and a second photographing scene such as a smiling face of a person as a subject or a moving child. According to a detected photographing scene, the control section 201 sets, as a control mode, a strobe light emission mode to light emission or light non-emission and a consecutive photography mode to consecutive photography or single photography. If the first photographing scene is detected and the second photographing scene is not detected, the control mode is set to strobe light emission and single photography. When the first photographing scene is not detected and the second photographing scene is detected, the control mode is set to strobe light non-emission and consecutive photography. Further, when the first photographing and second photographing scenes are both detected, the control mode is set to strobe light emission and single photography. |
