A mechanism to aid an angler when fishing having a cushioning device 12 and a linkage device 14. The cushion device located between the fishing rods butt 3 and the anglers arm. The linkage device located on the rods handle and having mans for being removably attached to a flexible strap B attached to the anglers body. The cushion may be removably attached to an armband 1 or a rod band (2, Fig. 7) which may be attached to the armband. The cushion may be made of at least two materials of different consistencies. The linkage device may have an adjustable means to be removably attached to the rods handle and may be hinged to allow rotational movement of the handle when in use. Advantages of the invention are that an angler can play a fish for longer without suffering hand, wrist and arm fatigue. |
