[Class 12 (i)] A ball thrust bearing has the axially opposed annular races 1 held together by an expansible spring ring or sleeve 3 inserted through the shaft aperture to expand into engagement with the inner peripheral edges of the two races and the outer edge of one race has a flange 5 extended to bend over the outer surface of the other race so as to retain lubricant and prevent ingress of foreign matter. The inserted ring may be a split ring, the gap of which serves for the injection of lubricant such as grease.</p> |
