PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alarm device capable of improving work efficiency when being installed, and a control method thereof.SOLUTION: An alarm device 1 includes: a failure diagnosis unit 21 which is allowed to be set to a normal mode of reporting gas leakage in response to a signal from a gas sensor 10 and a shipping mode, and diagnoses failures of the sensor at least once in the shipping mode; a mode setting unit 22 which releases the shipping mode to switch from the shipping mode to the normal mode when an operation unit 60 is held depressed; and a notification unit 30 which reports the failure diagnosis result of the failure diagnosis unit 21 when the shipping mode is released and is switched to the normal mode by the mode setting unit 22. |
