The present invention belongs to the technical field of electric tools. Disclosed are a circular cutter for an insulation layer of an insulated conductor and a method for cutting the insulation layer of the conductor. It is characterized in that: the circular cutter comprises a rod body, which has a cutter head holder and a handle, wherein the cutter head holder is provided therein with a cutter head which is connected to the rod body via a cutter head adjustment mechanism, a fastening chain is fixed to the cutter head holder at one side of the cutter head, a fastening chain through hole is provided in the cutter head holder at the other side of the cutter head, the middle part close to the rod body is provided with a fastening frame, a pry bar is fixed to the fastening frame via a fixed pin, the front end of the pry bar is provided with a hook, the rod body between the cutter head holder and the fastening frame is provided with a snap ring seat capable of moving forward and backward, the snap ring seat is provided thereon with a snap ring, the free end of the fastening chain is connected to the hook after passing through the fastening chain through hole and the snap ring, the cutter head is inserted into the insulation layer by adjusting the fastening chain, and then the rod body is rotated in a circle around the insulated conductor to circularly cut the insulation layer, so that the labour efficiency is improved. In addition, since the cutter head is always inside the insulation layer of the conductor, it is difficult to hurt operating staff, and the use is more secure. |
