When applying the invented method of driving feeds of a sewing machine clamping plate (1), the sewn fabric, being clamped on the clamping plate (1), is moved in pendulum motion during which the region of the fabric, in which lies the point of the sewing needle penetration (105), is moved in the direction X along a circle with the radius (Rix) and the center of which is the pendulum axis of the clamping plate (1), wherein it lies at a point of an instantaneous engagement of clamping plate (1) with the drive that brings it into the movement in the Y direction. In order to provide straight-line reciprocating motion of the clamping plate (1) in the direction Y of the stitched fabric joint, said clamping plate (1) is coupled with a first drive (2´) attached to the machine frame (10). In order to enable the reciprocating motion of the clamping plate (1) in the direction of X axis transverse to the direction of the stitched fabric joint, said clamping plate (1) is mounted swingably about the point of instantaneous engagement of the clamping plate (1) with the first drive (2´) and for providing the reciprocating pendulum motion in the direction of X axis it is coupled with a second drive (3´), which is attached to the machine frame (10). |
