A coupling comprising a plurality of annular members one nesting inside another, the inner 601 nesting in the intermediate 602 and the intermediate nesting in the outer 603. The outermost annular member comprises a spragg or ratchet clutch or freewheel element (see figure 5). The inner member having a pair of outer convex spherical peripheries and the outer of the pair having an inner spherical concave peripheries into which the outer convex peripheries of the first inner member are received in so that the rotation of the inner member is constrained. The coupling may have a pair of members which are constrained to rotate one about the other by one or more projections extending from the peripheries of one member into a slot of the peripheries of the other member.
