PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure for reducing cost while securing rigidity of a steering column.SOLUTION: Stopper parts 24a, 24a are formed by forming cuts in a circumferential direction at a plurality of circumferential portions of a rear end part of a steering column 6b, and bending axially adjacent parts to the cuts. At the same time, fitting parts 25a are formed by pressing parts, of which circumferential phases are deviated from the respective stopper parts 24a, 24a, out of an outer circumferential surface of the steering column 6b inward in a radial direction. An outer ring 20 of a ball bearing 19 is internally fitted and fixed to inner circumference surfaces of the respective fitting parts 25a, and at the same time, a caulking part 26 is formed by plastically deforming a rear end edge of the steering column 6b inward in the radial direction. |
