[Class 120 (ii)] Clearer rollers 2 for spinning - machine rollers are formed of a rod of non-circular cross-section twisted throughout its entire length so that the cross-sectional circumferential length is less than that of the enveloping circle, whereby the gathered waste may be readily removed. The twisting affords sufficient contact to enable a direct drive to be imparted to the rollers from the front rollers, but the drive may be effected from the lower front roller by contact therewith of discs 4 retained in the stand by a spring 6 and coupled to the end of one roller by a square stud 9, the adjacent roller being provided with an axle 7 and a spring 10 to maintain the coupling connection.</p> |
