The interface element (10) comprises first and second portions (1, 2) extending substantially in a first direction (A) and a third portion 3 which adjoins and extends between the first and second portions (1, 2) such that the first and second portions (1, 2) are spaced apart in a second direction (B), substantially perpendicular to the first direction (A), and are arranged to provide therebetween a recess for accommodating rail fastener anchoring means (25 ) whereby, when the anchoring means is located in the recess, the first, second and third element portions extend respectively over at least part of three corresponding anchoring means sides (25A , 25B , 25C ) which define its outer periphery. The third portion (3) is provided with a through aperture. A rail fastener retaining member (40) has a first retaining portion (40A) configured for retention in a first part (26B ) of a slot (26 ) formed in the rail fastener anchoring means (25 ) and an elongate second retaining portion (40B) which extends from the first retaining portion (40A) and is configured for extension through a second part (26A ) of the slot (26 ), the second retaining portion (40B) of the retaining member (40) and the aperture of the element (10) being shaped such that the second retaining member (40B) is able to fit through the aperture. |
