PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record a captured image in an appropriate file format based on the image.SOLUTION: An imaging sensor 24 takes an image of a subject formed by an imaging lens 23. A color gamut converting part 26 converts image data taken from the imaging sensor 24 during imaging into the color gamut of a specific color space on the basis of spectral sensitivity characteristics of the imaging sensor. A color gamut determining part 27 determines whether the color gamut of the specific color space, which the color gamut converting part 26 has converted, is wider than the color gamut of a predetermined color space. When it is determined that the color gamut of the specific color space is wider, a wide color gamut recording control part 29 selects a second file format capable of recording the image data with the color gamut of a color space wider than that of a first file format which records image data with the color gamut of the predetermined color space, and records the image data in a memory card 20 in the selected second file format. |
