An externally mounted digital display screen 10 for attachment to a substantially vertical surface of a vehicle comprises a display surface and a perforated grid 32 extending over the display surface. The screen 10 comprises a plurality of electrically interconnected modular LED screen tiles (30, Fig. 3). The screen is preferably mounted to the vehicle using shock absorbent fixings 16. The screen may be powered by an independent battery 22 and be controlled by a control unit 14 operable by the driver. The perforated grid is preferably made from plastic and is designed to protect the display from impact damage whilst allowing the screen to be visible through the perforations. The grid may be made up of a number of smaller units which may be replaced if they get damaged. |
