[Class 8 (ii)] A double walled. container for transporting and storing liquefied gases at low temperatures comprises an inner liquid holding vessel 20 and an outer shell 10, which have their main axes mutually coincident. The inner vessel is suspended in the outer shell by two groups of at least three tension members 26, 27, the members of each group being arranged to correspond to spaced generators of the surface of a cone whose axis is substantially coincident with the main axes of the vessels. The tension members are secured to the inner vessel by cleves 30 pivoted on ears 29 formed on a ring 28 and to the outer vessel by adjustable members 32 rotatable in threaded sleeves 31. The insulation between the vessels may be by vacuum, powder in vacuum or atmospheric powder filling.
