[Class 135] In a swinging gate type of valve comprising a valve disc 14 carried in a recess in an arm 16 attached to an actuating spindle 18, lubricant is supplied to an annular space 30 around the valve seat ring 24 through a passage 26 and fitting 32. The pressure of the lubricant-acts when the valve is closed against a spring 22 and the pressure of fluid in the inlet passage 10 of the valve to relieve the pressure of the valve disc on its seat and enable it to be swung by the spindle clear of the fluid passageway.</p> |
