摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detection device and a detection method which are capable of monitoring a target molecule for a long period of time by removing contaminating molecules deposited on a surface of a sensor part.SOLUTION: A detection device 10 for detecting a target molecule included in a fluid sample includes: a light source 30; an optical device 20 which has metal nanoparticles 220 in an area to be irradiated with light from the light source and has the fluid sample introduced thereto; a detection unit 50 which detects light reflecting the target molecule and contaminating molecules in the fluid sample, which are adsorbed to the metal nanoparticles of the optical device; a supply unit 60 which supplies standard molecules of which the adsorption capacity for the metal nanoparticles is higher than that for the contaminating molecules, to the optical device; a supply control unit 70 which controls the start and stop of supply of standard molecules from the supply unit; and a desorption unit 80 which desorbs the standard molecules from the metal nanoparticles after the supply control unit stops supply of the standard molecules.
