The apparatus has a steam generation tank including a solenoid valve (5) having a pipe (53) for passage of steam toward iron. The valve includes a movable core (54) movable in translation between a closed position to close the pipe and an open position to open the pipe. A fixed core (57) forms a stop for the movable core in the open position. A shoe (59) is interposed between the cores to absorb the shock of the movable core on the fixed core. The shoe includes projections in contact with an end (54B) of the movable core when the movable core is in the open position.
