PURPOSE:To reduce the effect of a pit left without being erased in the case that the short pit is overwritten on the long pit and to execute a stable overwriting action by controlling the intensity of the laser light of an optical pickup according to the signal length of an information signal. CONSTITUTION:The intensity of the laser light is changed by a control means 15 according to the signal length of the first information signal 21 and it becomes smaller according as the signal length becomes longer. The width of a pit pattern 24 recorded in such a way becomes narrower according as the length of the pit becomes longer. Therefore, the width of the pit can be controlled according to the length of the pit which is recorded. Thus, the effect of the pit left without being erased in the case that the short pit is overwritten on the long pit is reduced and the stable overwriting action is executed. |
