PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document management system and a document management program capable of reducing a load on network band against a document management server when performing periodical requests, compared with the conventional manner.SOLUTION: A document management system 4 comprises a document management server 1 for managing document information in folder structure and managing an operation history for the document information and the folder structure, and terminal devices 2a to 2d for designating objects among the document information and the folder structure about which the devices request a notification of update from the document management server 1. The document management server 1 transmits identification information of the terminal devices 2a to 2d in response to the designation of objects by the terminal devices 2a to 2d, and the terminal devices 2a to 2d transmit the identification information when periodically requesting the notification of update. When receiving the identification information, the document management server 1 transmits final update data of the designated objects, and the terminal devices 2a to 2d determine whether or not there has been update for the designated objects on the basis of the final update date. |
