A hinge assembly comprising a hinge body (3, Fig. 10), a flag assembly 4 having a back plate 4a, for fitting to a frame and sash, preferably a door, interconnected by a hinge pin (26, Fig. 10) carrying compression sleeve 24, turnable means, preferably helical compression screws 19, mounted on the flag assembly to act on the compression sleeve without turning the hinge pin to cause linear adjusting compression movement of the hinge. The helical screws 19 may have a helical screw thread (62a, Fig. 16) for acting on the compression sleeve via through holes (61, Fig. 19) in bore holes (60. Fig 19). The screws may turn through 180 degrees to provide linear adjustment of +/- 2mm. The compression sleeve may be mounted in an oval axial bore 23. Also claimed is a horizontal adjustment means comprising screw 18, slot 51 and sledge 49 and a vertical adjustment means comprising pin 17 and hinge mounting 2 (see Fig. 10,11). The assembly may also include a sash mounting block 52 removably secured to a mounting plate having holes 58 through which pins 8 extend for locating flag onto sash to prevent block movement and mask gaps. |
