An aerosol-generating device 2 for use with an aerosol-generating article comprising an aerosol-forming substrate. The device comprises a housing 4, an opening 22,24 in the housing 4, a chamber 28, a heater 36, a band 26, an airflow inlet 20, an airflow outlet, a device first end 6, a device second end 8 and a device side wall between the device ends. The opening in the housing leads to the chamber and the device 2 is configured to receive an aerosol-generating article through the opening and into the chamber 28. The device is configured in use to channel airflow through the article, where the chamber comprises a chamber heater section 32 comprising the heater 36, where the band 26 substantially circumscribes the housing 4 and is moveable along the length of the housing 4 between a housing first position and a housing second position. |
