An elongate brush tool 10 for cleaning a bore of a tubular comprises an elongate body 26 having a plurality of necked channels 27 extend axially and/or circumferentially, eg in a helical path about a central axis. Each necked channel 27 has a proximal end with an opening, a distal end having a stop, and a slot (55, fig.5) extending between the proximal end and the distal end. The brush tool 10 has a plurality of sets 20 of brush elements 22 each having an enlarged head (44, fig.4) received in a necked channel 27 and a bundle of bristles (46, fig.4) projecting outwardly through the slot 55. A channel closure member is removably secured to the body 26 to prevent removal of the head of the brush elements from the necked channel during use of the brush tool. The channel closure member may be a bolt 28 or a sleeve (33, fig2); a modified closure sleeve (60, figs.7,8) has protruding stabiliser lobes (63); a further modified closure sleeve (70, fig.9) has further necked channels to receive further brush elements. |
