PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle approach notification device that enables a pedestrian to accurately recognize an approaching vehicle through a portable terminal device during use of the portable terminal device.SOLUTION: A vehicle 1 has vehicle position detection means 4 capable of detecting a vehicle position and vehicle information transmission means 5 of transmitting the vehicle position. A portable terminal device 10 includes pedestrian detection means 13, 15 of detecting the current position and direction of a pedestrian, approaching vehicle detection means 14, 17 of receiving the vehicle position from the vehicle information transmission means and detecting a vehicle approaching the pedestrian from the position of the vehicle and the current position of the pedestrian, a virtual sound source formation part 19 which forms a virtual sound source in a vehicle presence direction of the approaching vehicle based upon the pedestrian according to the direction of the pedestrian and the approaching vehicle, and a notice output part 29 which outputs an audio signal from the virtual sound source from right and left earphone parts. With this configuration, the virtual sound source is formed according to the presence position of the approaching vehicle when the vehicle approaches the pedestrian who is using the portable terminal device, so that the earphone parts output a sound of the virtual sound source from the direction in which the vehicle is present. |
