The device has an input port, an output port, and a monitoring device determining overload of an electrical load, where the input port is connected with the output port in a normal condition of the device. Current flow between the ports is interrupted in an overload condition of the device. The monitoring device has a transducer (10) that connects a wire (101) with another wire in an electrically conducting manner. The transducer consists of material (5) that carries out phase transition by current-conditional temperature rise at the transducer in the normal condition.
