A method for handling overload of communication equipment includes: receiving a service access request; detecting, as triggered by the service access request, whether overload occurs; and accepting the service access request under the control of an overload license controller if the overload is detected. A computer program product includes computer program codes that can perform the method for handling overload of communication equipment. A computer-readable storage medium stores computer program codes that can perform the method for handling overload of communication equipment. An apparatus for handling overload of communication equipment includes: a receiving unit, configured to receive a service access request; a detecting unit, configured to detect whether overload occurs after the receiving unit receives the service access request; and a controlling unit, configured to accept the service access request under the control of an overload license controller if the detecting unit detects overload. With the technical solution provided herein, the service provider can reduce the operation cost without the need of purchasing ordinary licenses of a higher capacity to cope with emergencies. |
