The present invention relates to an external memory expansion apparatus for a mobile communication device comprising: a plurality of expansion memory slots wherein external memory cards are inserted; a memory control card which is formed to be inserted into an external memory slot placed within the mobile communication terminal, assigns addresses to the expansion memory slots, and interfaces the external memory cards inserted into each of the expansion memory slots and the mobile communication terminal; and a data cable which connects the expansion memory slots and the memory control card. Therefore, for expanding a capacity of an external memory card applied to mobile communication devices such as a smartphone, the apparatus gives no inconvenience of the use of a mobile communication device and no influence on the appearance of the mobile communication terminal.
