[Class 44] In an adjustable stud for a stud-and-socket fastener, comprising a head and a shank which are relatively rotatable for adjustment, the shank carrying fastener engaging means, e.g. a cross-pin, rigidly secured thereto, manually releasable means are provided which normally lock the parts against rotation in selected positions of definite increments of length, and the head has an opening to allow access to the releasing means. In the form shown, the shank 11 is internally threaded to engage the screwed part of the head 10, and the locking means comprise a T-shaped key 30, the stem 31 of which is seated in a bore 19 of the head 10, and the head of which engages in a diametral slot across the end of the stem of the head, and in longitudinal slots 24 in the threaded bore of the shank 11. A spring 32 normally holds the the key in locking position, but to release for adjustment a pronged tool engaging the key stem 31 and the slot 20 in the head is used.
