PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a body height detection device which can accurately detect the body height of an operator in an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: A body height detection device contained an image forming apparatus 1: has two or more thermopile elements 81 disposed in a two-dimensional array form; is configured such that a temperature detection surface is longitudinally and laterally divided into multiple regions, the thermopile elements 81 detecting temperature in the multiple regions, respectively; and includes a thermopile array sensor 80 disposed at a predetermined height from a floor surface with a temperature detection surface oriented toward a front, and a signal processing unit 101 for receiving temperature detection signals that are output from the thermopile elements 81 and performing signal processing. When the temperature of the width direction of a face of the operator M approaching the thermopile array sensor 80 is detected by a predetermined number of thermopile elements 81 aligned horizontally, the signal processing unit 101 calculates the body height of the operator from the position of the top end of a range in which the temperature of the face of the operator M is detected on the temperature detection surface. |
